Ishi, MA, AThR

(Art Psychotherapist)
Art Psychotherapist, MA Art Therapy,
Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art

Ishi is a registered art therapist with the Australian, New Zealand, and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA) and a multidisciplinary artist. Over a span of five years, she has immersed herself as an art educator, engaging with individuals across different generations—children, youths, and adults. Through this experience, Ishi has discovered the synergy between creativity and healing, laying the foundation for her path to art therapy.

Integrating her interest in creative expression gained from her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art Practice, Ishi harmoniously fuses her creative roots with her therapeutic approaches. Her skill set encompasses the provision of individual, dyadic, and group art therapeutic services in-person and online with children and youths from disadvantaged and disruptive households in a social service agency and a divorce specialist center.

Navigating the complex landscapes of trauma, anxiety, anger management, and stress, Ishi has worked with individuals on their journey towards healing. Her dedication extends to the neurodivergent community, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and bipolar disorder.

Her professional interests include material interaction in art therapy, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), developmental art therapy, community-based art projects and the therapeutic benefits of gaming/technology. In her role as an art therapist, Ishi believes the therapeutic use of art can empower and guide individuals to communicate, express, heal, and find comfort in times of adversity. She finds fulfillment from engaging with people from all walks of life and is dedicated to supporting individuals, building connections, and accompanying her clients on their journey, embracing progress one small step at a time.
